Job Description:

 

The Clinical Manager is responsible for clinical operations across the continuum of care (assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating), and includes case management, coordination of care, and medical management consulting. This role may also be responsible for providing health education, coaching and treatment decision support for members. This role manages RNs, RN Supervisors, and support staff who identify, coordinate, or provide appropriate levels of care, while working closely with Product Development and Medical Directors.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Takes lead role in setting direction and participating in developing new programs
  • Sets team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to members of their own team.
  • May oversee work activities of other supervisors.
  • Ensures team meets established performance metrics and performance guarantees
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges.
  •  Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities.
  • Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact multiple groups of employees and/or customers (internal or external)

Required Skills:

Required qualifications for success:
 
  • Current, unrestricted RN licensure in the state where position is located
  • 5+ years of Clinical experience as a RN, with at least 1 year in hospital-based acute care
  • CCM designation, or the ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Previous leadership experience, with the ability to partner with staff to build high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, to include the ability to create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
 
Additional skills/attributes leading to success:
 
  • 2+ years of case management experience
  • Experience working in managed care
  • Strong people-management experience, to include motivational leadership, ability to implement performance improvement plans, and drive to see employees succeed in their work
  • Strong customer service orientation
